You might need to recompile the kernel to turn off text mode
consoles.  Otherwise, for some reason the nano-X code
that requests the kernel to turn off the text mode cursor
is failing due to possibly an outdated ioctl and might need
changing.  IIRC there may be some other options in the
source (near the TEXTMODE defines) that might also
be set.
