I'm hoping to get beta 1 (finally) released this weekend ..

If you're confident that the new #cvslib binary fixes more issues than it
breaks, then I'd say go ahead :-)

Make sure you update the releasenotes and the task docs (both of which are
now xhtml 1.1 compliant) accordingly ...
