I'm using vssget and have run into this bug
http://www.mail-archive.com/nant-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg07025.ht
ml
which links to an MS hotfix article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;837417
but i'm not sure where to apply the hotfix.. is it a server or a client
hotfix? I thought that VSS had no server as such, only an "admin"
install that has the repair applications in it and the client accesses
direct into the database files. The reason I'm confused is that the
hotfix appear to apply to version 6.0d but I am using VS.NET 2005 and
VSS 2005 to access an older VSS database.. So my exe versions don't
match what is listed in the hot fix. where is vssget referencing vss? I
certainly used to have versino 6.0d on my machine, so it is possible
that it is lurking there somewhere. I assume from the context of the
hotfix that it uses DCOM rather than shelling to the command line
interface.
so my questions are
1) how is vssget accessing VSS?
2) should this apply to a 2005 install?
3) has anyone created a command line workaround target?
thanks,
sam
PS if this should be on the nantcontrib mailing list.. then i
apologise..
