In looking at the screen shots, NAntPad appears to have embedded documentation and may provide an advantage to building scripts in xml. It took many months for me to understand and become proficient with NAnt and its capabilities. Still, it only took a few minutes to build a hello world. If NAntPad helps the user to understand the NAnt tool and provides clear tutorials and documentation, then it is worth a great deal!
Lets compare NAntPad to the software it is built to support... NAnt is an incredible tool used by thousands if not tens of thousands, of developers worldwide. The result of this tool's development is now MSBuild being an integral part of the next visual studio. The value of this product is almost immeasaurable yet it has remained free to use, free to extend, free to all. I say, give it back! Donate nAntPad to the open source community. However, you have worked very hard all by yourself on this and I can understand a desire to be compensated. I would absolutely price it such that a developer can purchase the product without having to hock their mother's wedding ring. Trillian Pro is an awesoem messaging application. Its cost is $25 for the full version. The demo is free. It simply pops a non offensive messagebox every now and again the reminds the user how long they have used it, stating the author "hopes you enjoy it," and would you mind "paying for it" good luck. Every software developer dreams of working for themselves... That's why we are so cheap and won't pay for your software.
