I'd call it escaping out of NAnt.
I'd consider it supported when such an array could be used in the
<foreach> task, when
${property[index]} gets interpreted properly, and when functions do the
right thing
with them. Though for XML stuff, perhaps full XPath expressions makes
more sense
than traditional array syntax.
