There is a "Showdown" markdown javascript engine:
https://github.com/coreyti/showdown
The idea suggested by Sundar is to create some tests in Nashorn repo
that will run this engine using Nashorn.
This is a way to test another practical usage of Nashorn.
To run JavaFX Nashorn tests one should go to $NASHORN_WS/make directory
and type
$ANT_HOME/bin/ant external testmarkdown
