RFC4864 suggests a few ways to approach topology hiding in section 4.5. I actually think the 'topology masking router' is cleaner than tunnelling. As for multihoming, do you have a proof-of-concept proposal other than PI/BGP4+, LISP or SHIM6? Because we've been looking for ten or fifteen years.
