There was a time when our Sundance
was a unifying influence. Our Tribe had only one Sundance. One Tribe, one
Sundance, one People, one Sundance. Everyone came together then for the
Sundance. When district and communities began hosting their own Sundances the
elderly then saw that as dividing the people of the Tribe and they spoke against
that. Now, each family has it's own Sundance and everything we do is that way.
When someone is elected to office he
serves only his family. The rest of the families in his community take what is
left after he takes care of his family. Everything is fractionated, unity has
gone to hell in a handbasket. And it will stay that way unless we can elect
leaders who will lead the whole Tribe and not just their families.
