The new school year is taking up so much of my time, that I can barely manage to check my email once a day now, and often I don't even get to that anymore. The recent tragedies in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania have delivered a sobering blow to my heart and the hearts of all those around me here. Hearts have been so deeply wounded by all of this, that it becomes difficult to see the good things in life, and the miracle that our Creator has chosen to protect us and give us that much more time to make a difference in this world. I am trying with all my heart to do just that--make a difference in this world--one day at a time, one small act of kindness at a time, hoping that with each passing day, I will be able to do more than I could the day before, even as I learn the art of music that I pray will help me one day touch the hearts of people all over the world. Alas, for me, being so active in the "real" world has meant sacrificing my contact with the beautiful people and communities I have known and loved here, and my heart aches for that. To my Elders, Brothers, Sisters, Teachers and Friends that I have known through these lists--I am sorry for being so silent for so long. I have missed you terribly, and still miss your guidance and wisdom, your laughter, your kindness and your strength even now. As wonderfully blessed as my life has become, there is an emptiness in my heart that your presence once filled, and I hope someday I will be able to return on a more regular basis. Until then, remember now and always that never a day goes by when you are not all in my thoughts and prayers.
