Successful Life by Kevin Lawrence -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Start your free subscription today. Just click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] "The past is history The future is a mystery This moment is a gift That is why this moment is called the present Enjoy it" ~ Allan Johnson How relevant these words are for us today as we try to understand what is happening or will happen in our world as a result of last week's tragic events. One major result of last week's attacks is that most people became critically aware of what was truly important to them in the present moments. This is good because usually people get lost worrying about the future and regretting the past. True peace from life comes from living in and living the moment you stand in at any given time. This is a powerful place to be, but is hard to stay there with the pace of life many people live ... So, how can we use the principles of living in the present to make life better with the situation we now find ourselves in today? Well, for starters, it may help to not continually re-hash the events of last week. I've spoken to countless people in the past few days that said,"I just had to turn the TV off finally" or "I never watch TV but found my eyes going square from all the news I watched last week." I personally watch very little TV, but found myself consumed with curiosity (as well as shock) and watched the coverage for hours. Now that the initial shock and horror is wearing off, many people are shifting to worry about what will happen next. I must admit that I am concerned and would prefer to not go down the road that the US and others will have to go. So not worrying is tough - we're human. I believe that some of the most intelligent and capable people available are supporting or working for the governments of the US, Canada, UK and others. These people are wise and aware of the ramifications of each decision they make. They are in their positions for a reason and the more we trust them, the less we have to worry ... worry is a wasted emotion and it causes incredible amounts of stress. The reality here is that the more we stay in the moment and remember what is important today - right now, the more we will be able to have quality time with the ones we love and live a good life. ~ What can you do to remain more present this week? ~ What is the most important to you today? This week? ~ What can you do to trust more and worry less?
