I agree with you on the loss the first people suffered, this country owes for such travesties that were committed to the Native Americans. But I do not feel this is an appropriate way for the cause of the American Indians to be brought to the public eye, it would be as if we were trying to capitalize on this great tragedy to further our own cause. The purple ribbon is for those who lost their lives in this new war against terrorism, all people Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, American Indians, were effected by this, and we all are still at risk from these terrorist attacks. Right now all other causes should not be included in such a wonderful idea as the purple ribbon, no matter how just, how rightous, how needed it is. Lets go about our cause as we always did and not try to tag onto something that brought so much sorrow to the people that we are trying to make understand our cause. I can see only harm coming from it.
