In addition to the previous developments, there is even
more good news.
Our efforts to assist the children in Busby have now
resulted in a
charitable involvement by Conoco. Pictures and detailed
explanations of
the needs of the Northern Cheyenne school in Busby were
discussed in a
meeting today in Houston, Texas. In essence, Conoco has
agreed to
"adopt" the school for one year, providing material
assistance as
needed. Already, some 1,000 books have been aquired for the
library, and
will be on the way to the school very soon. Art supplies,
computers, and
basketball team uniforms, are the most pressing needs that
remain, and
we have been assured these needs will be addressed in short
order.
Finally, a basketball tournament may also be sponsored for
this and
other schools in the surrounding areas. Texas AIM is
grateful to all
those organizations and individuals who have helped in our
efforts to
assist these children. As a warrior society, we are
committed to our
most sacred trust-the children. That they have every
opportunity to not
only survive, but to thrive, is our goal. Like the rock
that falls into
the water, everything we do for our children creates a
ripple effect,
touching the lives of countless individuals. Be the rock.
