SALARY: Based on experience ($28,000 - $32,000) REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree required, an MLS from an ALA accredited program preferred, library computer technology experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, good organizational skills. Experienced librarian preferred. POSITION DESCRIPTION DIRECTOR OF LIBRARY SERVICES The Director of Library Services is responsible for the administration of the library, provision of information services and designing the library program. Reports to: Academic Dean Position: Full time / Twelve months RESPONSIBILITIES: Assumes all library administrative responsibilities Develops long and short range goals Promotes the use of libraries through public relations/community services Prepares and oversees the annual library budget Manages and keeps current all library automation and technology Initiates policies for efficient operation of the library Manages reference requests, basic cataloging, and inter-library loan services Represents the library at tribal, state, and local level meetings Makes selection and acquisition decisions of library and information resources Writes annual funding grants (IMLS, Welk Family Foundation, etc.) Miscellaneous duties/responsibilities as required or assigned About SWCC: Sisseton Wahpeton Community College, is a dynamic tribally chartered community college established in 1979,.
