Building on the success of the first Wisdom of the Giveaway held in Seattle on April 7 - 9, 2001, the San Diego conference will be offering many of the same workshops and panel discussions, as well as a couple of new ones, including "Philanthropic Models as a Means to Self-Sufficiency". This workshop will be looking at ways that tribes can use philanthropic models within economic development scenarios . . . a new area but one that holds potential. I am in process of raising awareness of the event, and will be posting more material on this list-serve as we go along. In addition, I will be updating the First Nations Development Institute's web site in relation to the conference, so check that out as well for additional information.
