To all of the people of our community. The young, old, wise and the ones
who are falling. My name is Su:k Chu:vak Fulwilder I am 22 years old. My
father is Meldon Fulwilder and my mother is Marie Fulwilder. I am from the
Pima and Maricopa and Pomo tribes from my dad's side, from my mom's side I
inherit the Tlingit and Aleut blood from Alaska.

I wanted to write this article to state my opinion of what I see going on
around this rez. I am deeply saddened by all the terrible things I see
going on around me. I see the young warriors out there fighting and killing
each other over colors. I see young and old mothers abandoning their
children while they are drinking or getting lost into drugs, as well as the
fathers, and it hurts. I have lost many family members to car crashes, from
drinking and driving. I've lost friends to drugs, I am losing people I love
left and right and it is making my quest for life stronger and my urge to
help people is growing every day.

Every time I lose someone, even if I don't know you and you died from a
bullet or an overdose it shoots a pain into my heart, because you are still
my relative. We as Native People are all related, connected in one way or
another. That is why I can't understand why we do this to ourselves. So
some of us did not have the opportunity to grow up with the culture, or
language around you, you still have time to learn. There are always people
here who hold plenty of knowledge and are willing to share it. Find them,
use them to find yourself, and when you find yourself, help someone else in
return.

The children of this community are suffering, crying out for help,
help them, in any way possible. Take one minute to have a talk with someone
who is hurting inside. We're all feeling the same pain and you know it.
Those of you who are falling into the world of drugs, you know who you are,
don't give up! Believe in yourself, look for the brighter day, it's coming.
If you need a friend to talk to, come find me, I'm always here. I've been
there too, I know how hard it is, and that's why I give a Damn. PLEASE look
for that yellow brick road and follow it. We can't lose you, you may not
know it, but you too are important to this community, you might have the
right words for someone else to hear and find change. You are all the
future generation and the future is yours.

My last plea is for you parents to keep your kids in school make them get
up and get that education, it's very important. We're living in the white
man's world, we have to show him he's no better than us. This is our
community, and we should be running it. All you young ones are our future
presidents, vice presidents, the ones in charge of this little piece of
land, take it back and turn in into the place it was meant to be. The
direction you're going towards is the wrong way, so turn back before it's
too late. Before our language and Himdag is gone and irretraceable. DON'T
GIVE UP, everyday is a war and we're all in battle, but we don't have to
lose Thank you ALL MY RELATIONS - PEACE -

Here is a poem that I hope opens your eyes a little.

To all my people, to my life,
I need you to open your eyes, to discover the world
beyond,
For it belongs to you,
This is the place , this is my home, I belong
to this REZ, I belong to you.
Please don't run away, cuz
trouble will only follow,
I know times are hard, but it's
time we find our vision,
It's time to make a decision,
Do we want an ever lasting war among each other, or do
we want peace of mind?
Do you truly want your children growing
up with dying hearts,
or do we want them
to be strong,
to be just as wise as
Creator wants them to be.
I know you are lost, but the there's a
trail that will lead to your future.
A great one at that, the best you'll ever be,
Not only for the white
world, but for you and me.
It's so important that
you don't give up on you,
because you are all we've got, for one last
shot, at being our true selves.
I believe in you, can you
believe in your self?
What it is it that I can do, to
make you see the light,
I know you are struggling, but
don't give up the fight
For there is still a hope in a child's
eye, just waiting for your help.
Don't let her down, because all her
hope lies within you.
Can you do that? Can you be strong?
BELIEVE ME,
When I say better
days are coming along

Much Love & Respect
ONE NATION UNDER CREATOR,
WITH HOPE FOR ALL, WE'RE ONE PEOPLE,
LET'S UNITE AND STAND TALL
