This is a great opportunity for service,  and will be a wonderful
opportuinty for cultural exchange. Tom Tate

The Oglala Sioux Tribe Partnership for Housing, Inc., an affordable
housing nonprofit on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South
Dakota, is sponsoring a home building event July 30th - August 7th.  =

Over 1,000 volunteers are being recruited by the tribe to participate.
During the week, the volunteers will build and renovate 50 homes on
the reservation and have the opportunity to share in the tribal
cultural experience.

HUD is providing technical assistance to the nonprofit for the
volunteer home build and will sponsor seminars and workshops on
homeownership, community empowerment, mortgage lending, community
planning, and other issues during the week of the Pine Ridge Building
Summit.
