I am sorry that I have not been able to reach many of you who have inquired
about the Prayer Vigil on April 24th. The email is not being accepted by many
of you who may have restrictions on your email address. Please let me know
how to reach you if you have not received a response and you see this message
through other contacts.
The situation is getting worse rather than better. The pipe is no longer
allowed to be taken to the sweat lodge, but now there isn't even a sweat being
held. The administrators are saying that there is no wood for the sweat,
although there is a large pile adjacent to the sweat lodge area. When the
inmates asked if additional wood could be brought in or donated by outside
supporters, they were told "no", that the wood could no longer be donated and
that the DOC would no longer purchase it, that it would have to be bought by
the inmates. With what? This in effect prevents them from having the inipi
altogether.
Please, don't just support this issue by email, but join the caravan and the
prayer vigil in Denver IN PERSON and BRING FRIENDS of ALL NATIONS, red, white,
yellow or black. We need to start with a prayer vigil in Denver and follow
through with rallies all over the state. The Oyate Ki - the family has to
grow to a size that will be recognized by the people who are breaking their
own rules.!!
I hope to hear from those of you I have not been able to reach by email soon.
The next meeting is on March 27th at the Holiday Inn Pueblo at 10am. Please
be there and bring your strong spirit with you! Mitakuye Oyasin - Renee Still
