The Onondaga Nation Council of Chiefs is the governing entity on the Onondaga
Nation territory in central New York. A month ago a house fire claimed the
life of Ron Jones, Sr., an outspoken critic of the Nation Council. The blaze
occured in the early afternoon with numerous witnesses in the immediate
vicinity who responded by lending assistance in an effort to contain the fire.
The Nation Council is working with investigators to insure the cause of the
fire, and the death of Ron Jones Sr., is objectively determined. Any
additional reports stemming from questionable sources must not be given
credit. The Onondaga Nation Council will issue its own public statement
regarding this tragedy at the appropriate time.
