AG WEARS PIE OVER 1994 STANDOFF: A-G wears pie served by mystery assailant:
Leaflet left behind points to grudge over Gustafsen Lake

The Province, March 5, 1999 by John Colebourn

[S.I.S.I.S. note: Gustafsen Lake was in 1995, not 1994. But then the BC
media has never felt the need for factual accuracy with respect to
Gustafsen. Also, there is no mention of the specific issues raised with Mr.
Dosanjh after the talk he gave, including his refusal of a public inquiry
and serious charges laid before him concerning the actions of himself and
other state officials. CTV national news screened the issue out entirely,
running the video of the pieing but stating that Mr. Dosanjh was speaking
when he was pied "on a completely unrelated matter".]

Attorney-general Ujjal Dosanjh yesterday found out how sweet life can be at
SFU. The only problem was it came when someone who was apparently upset
over Dosanjh's handling of the 1994 Gustafsen Lake showdown threw a pie
into his face.

"It was a lemon meringue pie, -- actually a large one," confirmed Dosanjh's
media man Chris Beresford. "The source said it was very lemony."

Dosanjh was touring the university when he was hit with the pie. He quickly
went to the washroom and then resumed his schedule, speaking to criminology
students during the department criminology day.

After the pie hit the attorney general, a leaflet was left behind
indicating someone had soured on Dosanjh's handling of the Gustafsen Lake
blockade. Jones William "Wolverine" Ignace was released from prison last
month after serving time for his role in the blockade.

No one has yet to be arrested following Dosanjh's serving of pie.

Beresford said the department is not taking the half-baked publicity stunt
lightly. "It was actually quite a scary incident, but the attorney-general
wasn't hurt," he said.

Pie throwing has become trendy these days, especially in Quebec, where Les
Entartistes claim they are out to paste the pompous.
