Area To friends of Ingrid, Lahe, Terry, We are honored to conduct a Farewell Ceremony for Ingrid, Terry, and Lahe so that those of us here whose lives they touched can wipe away the tears and continue our commitment for justice. The ceremony will take place at the Moyaone Burial Grounds on Sunday from 12 - 2 pm, a place that Ingrid helped us to protect. We will caravan cars from the burial grounds to the house. A potluck dinner will follow at Chief Billy and Shirley Tayac's home in Port Tobacco, so please everyone bring a dish to pass. THeir number is 301-932-0808 - please call if you are getting lost!! Directions To Moyaone Burial Grounds: The grounds are located within Piscataway National Park in Accokeek Maryland. Take 495 (or 295S from in DC) to 210 South (also known as Indian Head Highway). Proceed on 210S for about 15 miles to Accokeek. You will see a B&J Dixie Barbecue restarant from the road. Turn right at Accokeek and follow small brown signs toward National Colonial Farm. You will be going around the block around B&Js - right on Biddle and left on Bryan Point. You will then be on Bryan Point Road. Proceed about 5 miles. You will pass 2 entrances for the Alice Ferguson Foundation (marked with small yellow signs on your right). Turn right onto to gravel road into Piscataway National Park and park in the lot. Walk the boardwalk to the site. Note: Last week when I was at the grounds, the Piscataway National Park Sign was down. The small brown "Tayac" sign was up, this is where you want to turn on the winding gray gravel road, so please keep your eyes open. You do not want to go all the way to National Colonial Farm. Directions to Chief Tayac's home (from DC, we'll caravan from the grounds): Take 495 to 5 South toward Waldorf. 5S will become 301 South. Continue on 301 South to La Plata (about 20 miles from 495). Turn Right on Rt. 6 West toward Nanjemoy. There is a shopping center with a Safeway, KFC, and Texaco. Go on Rt. 6W about 6 miles to Simms Landing Rd.. Turn Left.
