Kenora - The Grassy Narrows First Nation is threatening to set up a road
block on April 1 if a dispute over clearcut logging continues. Chief Bill
Fobister has asked Natural Resources Minister John Snobelen, Indian Affairs
Minister Jane Stewart and Environment Ministry officials to meet with band
members over the matter. Fobister says he wants to try to resolve concerns
the band has about clearcutting on portions of Grassy Narrows land, an area
that covers about 6,500 square kilometres in northwestern Ontario.
