HAU KOLA PI

Today, I, authorized a Federal Court injunction to be filed by a member of
my band, the Oglalas. The issue at stake is that the Chairman of the
Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, at the present time, is in mediation with
Federal Judge Young in Rapid City, South Dakota with parties from the
State of South Dakota and his tribal organization. ~The matter of the
issue is
the Homestake Goldmine cases, Civil Action #97-5078-South Dakota, and
Civil Action #97-5100-Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. approximately 200-300
million dollars in lawsuit judgement funds are presently being discussed for
disbursement to the two parties, South Dakota vs. Homestake Goldmine and
Cheyenne Riiver Sioux Tribe vs. Homestake Goldmine.

This, my fellow Sioux Nation members, is very bad because the gold issue
or any funds talked about is very dangerous to the Docket 74-A and 74-8
judgment funds We have to bring this issue to the congressional level NOT
the State courts. Mr. Mario Gonzales, in 1980. filed an injunction on behalf
of the Oglalas and this is how we became aware of the Black Hills
Homestake Goldmine issue. We will be scheduling a Sioux Nation meeting
in the near future. Please call the Oglala Sioux Tribe Fifth Member's Office
at (605) 867-5821, Ex 268, Oliver Red Cloud Treaty Office.
