Preparation for the Rising of the Sixth Sun

We of the 21st Century must prepare for the coming of the Sixth
Sun. We must continue our studies of the present, but more importantly of
our ancient spiritual past.
It is equally as important to prepare the mind as well as the body.
Mexi-Kans were and are formidable athletes. This and more was realized
through the carvings of Kans on the walls of our Teotlachtli ball courts in
South Aztlan. Many of our sisters and brothers have yet to realize this.
That makes me make violence to my heart and express great sorrow. I make
violence to my heart because Aztlan is not free, and because I am a
Mexi-Kan of the Rising of the Sixth Sun.
Being Mexi-Kan is a fascinating reality. Our "mexicayotl" (true
indigenous state) is the joy of our strength exercised. The Kan fights in
the shining path of Mexi (xochiyaoyotl). Xochiyaoyotl (sho chi yao yot'l),
the "War of the Flowers" is a liberating force. It frees the Mexi-Kan from
feelings of despair and inaction, and restores his self-respect. The
xochitl (flor) is the sign for a man and woman's heart. Rebellion of the
heart precedes a rebellion in Mexi-Kan culture, politics, and
ancient/spiritual mobilization. Xochiyaoyotl calls for the replacement of
the irresponsible, traditional "Hispanic" leadership. Without this, no
meaningful changes or new conceptualizations can reach la raza. Mexi-Kans
must fight to guarantee a future for their children. Last, but not least,
Mexi-Kans must fight in cooperation with our brothers holy land (Mexico) in order to
maintain a favorable equilibrium in the
world of revolutionary over counter-revolutionary, and in the world of
freedom over oppression. Mexi-Kans of the Sixth Sun must fight to reassert
their mexicayotl. They must fight simply because we are oppressed human
beings.
Kans are those who promise to fulfill the dreams, hopes, and
desires of Mexi's prophets -- Tezcatlipoca, Xolotl, Touenio, Ixtacmixcoatl,
Tecpatzin, Huitziton, Axollohua, Cuauhcoatl, and Quetzalcoatl. Many were
the sisters who were profetisas-- La Cihuacoatl, Ixtab, Xochiquetzal,
Xilonen, Tlazolteotl, Chalchiuhtlicue, Chalchiuhcihuatl, Chicomecoatl,
Chalchiuhnene, Quetzalpetlatl, and Xihuiquenitzin. Kans are cadres in the
service of la raza. "Serve la raza." This is our declaration of
independence. To serve la raza is to serve Mexi. Mexi is our ancient
spiritual creator, and we were not created in vain!
Successful national liberation leaders such as Nelson Mandela,
Carlos Marighellia, Kwane Nkrumah, Mao Tse Tung, Ho Chi Minh, Sekou Toure,
Ben Bella, Ayatolla Khomeini, Fidel Castro, and Ferdinand Marcos were all
good political scientists. The rising level of political sophistication of
modern liberation leaders reflects the increasing sophistication of the
techniques of oppression. This implies that a nation or society must
develop a high level of popular political sophistication , or it will be
unable to succeed in a national and international liberation struggle.
Revolutionaries do not become such merely to accept or expound
revolutionary ideology and actions. Certain sensitive, intelligent natives
perceive societal injustices to such a point, that they are trapped in a
situation where their personal morality and rationality is threatened by
having to accept the injustices perceived. Mexi is great! Viva la raza!

                                        In exile and persecution,
                                        Ramiro R. Muniz - Tezcatlipoca

Letter to Ramsey Muniz - Tezcatlipoca
By Raul G. Garcia, Author of "Liberation of the Texas Valley."

Tezcatlipoca:
Greetings from North Aztlan, where the rising of the Sixth Sun
energizes and gives us life, as in the days of old when the sacrifice of
the gods caused motion (Ollin) in the universe. The spiritual/cultural
revolution sweeps the land with banners held high, as the oppressor
trembles at the sound of our marching feet. The spirit of resistance is
very much alive today, more than ever, in our heart (yollotl).
If we move forward it is only because we place our trust and faith
in La Raza. It is in this unwavering love for the people that we find
power, a healing power that enables us to overcome all fear. Let us not
forget that the history of our people is filled with sacrifice, and because
of it we are able to live. Your sacrifice and that of our brothers there
with you, will be immortalized as I prepare the Rising of the Sixth Sun.
Some are destined to plant the seeds of the spiritual/cultural
struggle, like our Mexica brothers and sisters who fought the ancient and
modern battles against the oppressor. Those of us who live in the belly of
the beast therefore have the moral responsibility of bringing to a close
once and for all what Zapata, Che, Cuauhtemoc, and Ricardo Flores Magon
bequeathed to us, the duty to protect our history, our culture, and our
spiritual traditions as we build the nation of Aztlan.
In order to accomplish this we need patience. Patience is good
training for self-control. More importantly, it enriches us with spiritual
power. Patience is the best technique for developing inner harmony and
strength. It keeps us away from the irrational too. But when it is
unleashed, it moves mountains. It transforms us and those touched by its
radiant power of truth and justice. The day will come when nothing will
stop this, for there is nothing on earth that is more powerful that the
moral power of Truth.
The great awakenings of history begin with a few dedicated
individuals who give themselves totally to the struggle. These are the
ones who speak not only with courage, but with conviction as well. Through
discipline, dedication, and commitment, a group of spiritual warriors can
change the face of the earth. The long years of preparation finally come
to fruition. The long years of study, of meditation, and love of Truth,
have all been but a training ground for what lies ahead, the Rising of the
Sixth Sun.
In your letters you mention Mexicayotl, the Mexica soul of
consciousness. The practice of Mexicayotl, you say, leads to
self-realization, and this is what it means to be Mexi-Kan. The analogy of
a lamp is an interesting analogy, for the removal of those layers which
cover the light within us, that cover the rays of light which lie dormant
and hidden from us, in what all of our teaching and practice is about. When
one by one the layers of dust are put to the side, the light will shine
forth, and that light will be the light of the world. Indeed, this is our
task, to lead people to discover the light within. Once the Truth is
known, the Truth will set our people free.
If being MexiKan is our religion, then religion is a way of being,
a way of living. In short, not only is it part of our nature, but the
essence of being human. As you point out, we cannot escape it, we cannot
avoid it, we cannot deny it except at our own risk. It is true that
Mexicayotl frees us from ideologies and theologies. I think it also frees
us from tyrannies that usually accompany dogmas and doctrines of any kind.
Indeed, one is liberated from guilt and is reconciled to who we really are,
puros Mexicanos. Needless to say, this spiritual/cultural/historical
struggle clearly goes beyond all economics and politics, for it transcends
all material endeavors. It prepares us for an ethics of care, of love for
our people. It becomes the foundation of the struggle to build Aztlan. It
calls for Vemanna (sacrifice).
I agree that the rising of the Sixth Sun is about power, about
spiritual power. It is about winning the mind and heart of our people.
This is why it is a holy struggle. As you say, it's Xochiyaoyotl (guerra
florida), or the war of flowers. Because it is revolutionary in nature, it
is about change and creation. It is about building a unified Aztlan, North
and South. In the end Neltihuani (la verdad de Dios) will win. Como dice
la Santa Escritura:
Si Dios contigo, quien contra ti?

As a spiritual/cultural struggle it will aim at winning the mind
and heart of our people, standing in solidarity with all those who are
oppressed and hunger for justice. The women, like the ancient spiritual
warriors, will hold up half the sky, and to them we have appealed. No
process of liberation has ever been successful without the role of women,
and no group has ever accomplished great things without the women who
marched at the forefront carrying the banner of freedom. This is the
mission, the mission to create consciousness, to pave the way as the rays
of the rising of the Sixth Sun begin to shine throughout the land of North
and South Aztlan.
As the year comes to a close I am satisfied with what we have
accomplished, yet, I too realize how much more needs to be done. This is
why I anticipate the new year with enthusiasm, conviction, and total
commitment. On December 1 I spoke to a group of seminarians who were very
curious about the rising of the Sixth Sun. They wanted to know from which
direction it would come! Nahuatlan!!! Finally, on December 12 we had a
fundraiser at Hernandez Cafe in Austin. There is no doubt they were all
with us. These are the people that will become the real spiritual warriors
of the day.

Quetzalcoatl
