And now:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (S.I.S.I.S.) writes:

The Ts'peten Defence Committee and the Free Wolverine Campaign invite any
who wish to be present, to join friends, family and supporters in a
"welcome back" for imprisoned Shuswap elder Wolverine. The 67 year old
traditionalist elder has been in prison since 1995 for his role in the 1995
defence of sacred burial and Sundance grounds at Ts'peten/Gustafsen Lake,
for which he was sentenced to 8 1/2 years imprisonment. Last week, he was
granted parole.

An informal welcoming gathering will take place outside the Elbow Lake
Correctional Facility, on Thursday, January 28, 1999 at 10:00 AM, when it
is expected Wolverine will released prior to his return home to Shuswap
territory. All supporters of Indigenous sovereignty and of this courageous
elder are urged to come and show support and solidarity.

To get to Elbow Lake - take Highway 1 to Abbotsford. Exit on Highway 11
north to Mission. Take Highway 7 east from Mission passing Hatzic, Dewdney,
Deroche and Lake Errock. Turn left at the Sasquatch Pub onto Morris Valley
Road (the highway to Hemlock Valley). After a few kilometres there is a
fisheries plant on the right - take a left turn to Elbow Lake Correctional
- it is 3 km up that dirt road. Should you require additional directions,
please call supporter Dave Emery in Chilliwack at (604) 795-7219

For further information please contact the Ts'peten Defence Committee
Spokesperson, Elder Bill Lightbown in Vancouver at (604) 251-4949 Phone/fax
or Free Wolverine Campaign Spokesperson Splitting the Sky in Kamloops at
(250) 679-7743.
