Subject: [EthnicConflicts] Canada's "Defence" Minister = Supercillious Ass.

From: Franklin Wayne Poley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Dear Globe and Mail: I have never used the expression "supercillious ass"
in a letter but I read your article to-day on how Art Eggleton, Canada's
"Defence" Minister is appealing to the sentiment of Canadians to stop the
bloodshed in Kosovo and suggesting that continuing the bombing and perhaps
sending ground troops is the way to do it.

Has it ever occurred to this "supercillious ass" that he is doing the
only thing which can weaken Canada's defence for the next 100 years by
supporting US atrocities from Iraq to Yugoslavia? Eggleton should be
dragged by the scruff of his neck before a War Crimes Tribunal in The
Hague. Getting Iraq out of Kuwait should have been the end of Desert
Storm. Hammering out a peaceful procedure whereby "a people have the right
to self-determination" can be actualized would have prevented the
bloodshed in Kosovo and a lot of other places.

Having Eggleton lined up with Axworthy and Chretien to play "intern"
to Bill Clinton and his war machine solves no problems. There are hundreds
of potential Kosovo's on the planet. Is Eggleton going to remedy all of
them by military means? Quebec seems to be moving along well with its bid
for sovereignty without bloodshed and no doubt the lessons will be passed
on to First Nations in Canada when they take the same path to liberty in
the "True North, Strong and Free." Surely Eggleton can pass some of this
wisdom on to Yugoslavia.

Sincerely-FWP.
