Indigenous Peoples - Relatives:

Greetings from my home at Maui`Ano`ai mai, aloha, I am Kekula of
NetWarriors and WarriorNET NetworkS dedicated to solidarity and
technical information on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Myself
along with David Gene Lews - a Native American graduate student at
the University of Oregon and administrator of Sovereign Speakout have
initiated the discussion around developing a global tribunal once
again. We acknowledge the many other international tribunals that
our people have held and hope to honor their sigificant findings by
expanding the scope, building online and concluding in a global forum.

This is an open invitation to Indigenous Peoples who wish to be part
of a planning discussion at
http://www.egroups.com/list/tribunal2000/info.html. The discussion is
closed and membership is accepted by moderators. It is for Indigenous
Peoples to plan an International Indigenous Peoples Tribunal to
convene online in 2000 - 2001. Conclusive studies, reports and
recommendations will be compiled in 2002 with review process. The
convening will be open to the public to raise awareness, generate
greater global support and education. 2003 should be strategic. This
first focus is to be expanded by the TWG at tribunal2000.

Sub-Groups can be freely created and those who create them will have
the option as to whether they will be open to select individuals,
public, closed to indigenous peoples or other sectors or inclusive of
non-indigenous peoples. This initiative is to further the collective
and individual goals for: recognition of our rights, relief and
survival.

Important discussions around this planning is encouraged on
WarriorNET and Sovereign Speakout and can be freely incorporated into
the discussions. We are hopeful that other native initiatives and
indigenous lists might be willing to contribute their knowledge and
expertise to the process also.

Currently the public can review the discussions online at the web
site. Absolutely nothing is set in stone at this time. Meaning that
any of it can change once the TWG begins to shape and form the
process and events.

Those of you who have participated in or organized for, International
Tribunals or relative Tribal forums are encouraged to bring your
expertise to help make this as effective as possible.

This is a pure grassroots initiative. However, we will work to attain
high profile and formal international observations for the purpose of
validating our peoples claims at the end of this tribunal. We will be
welcoming other Tribunal findings and recommendations for continued
address and redress or expansion if the tribe, nation or people wish
it. These experiences should be a guiding light for us.

You are welcome to become a member of this working group. We hope you
will accept this invitation and join us.
