Hau everyone,

First I would like to thank each of you for your support and prayers, the
ride from Cheyenne River was, in my opinion, a success. Although the group
from Lower Brule was unable to get the assistance (horses, trailers or
financial help) to get their ride off the ground, they were there to walk
across the bridge with the riders from Cheyenne River, sing and carry banners.

The ride from here was pretty slow starting but we finally got on the road on
Thursday afternoon. We had all kinds of trouble with rounding up horses,
trailers and trucks breaking down and getting riders down here. In the end we
were able to depend on a couple of families who really made it possible, I
would like to thank Nub and Marie Long and family and Lisa Farlee and family
especially. On the first day we had 7 riders, I would like to honor Loren
Larrabee, Sullivan Larrabee, Lynn Provost, Damon Gray Eagle, Cody Livermont
and Luke Black Elk. On the second day we were joined by Lisa Farlee, Beth
Long, Larry Fiddler, Jerry Farlee, Lizette Farlee, Lacey Turning Heart, Amber
Laundreau and Just Fiddler.

On the tenth we had a lot of activities planned for at the camp but the
weather refused to cooperate and we were forced to move the Sioux Nation
Treaty Council meeting that was planned to the Pierre Indian Learning Center.
The meeting was very productive and well attended. During the meeting the
occupiers of Oceti Sakowin were commended by the Council and the people in
attendance and encouraged to keep the fires burning.

We were informed that the permit which remains unacknowledged by the peaceful
protesters of Oceti Sakowin (and expired on the tenth), has been extended by
the Corps of Engineers for an extra ten days. So on the twentieth of April we
may again be asking everyone who can to come to Pierre and be on hand, please
be thinking about it.

This started as a 'quick note' to thank everyone and give a brief update and
I kind of got carried away. If you would like to write (for more information
or to comment), please contact Karen Ducheneaux at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or Kyanne
Dillabaugh at [EMAIL PROTECTED] I will try to keep you all informed and
again, thank you for writing and giving your support.
