Annual Rolling Cloud Powwow

The Mohegan Tribe and Nation and the National American Indian Defense
Association would like to cordially invite the public to the Annual Rolling
Cloud Powwow 1999. The Annual Rolling Cloud Powwow will be held at the
Brooklyn Fair Grounds, Rte 169. Brooklyn, CT on April 24-25. Gates will
open at 10:00 a.m. and closing will be at 6:00 p.m. Hosting the event will
be Wolf Spirit Drum, and honored guest drums, First Light, Nisgamij, Rising
Wind, Strong Turtle, and other invited drums. All drums are welcome. There
will be Traditional Native American Drumming, Singing and Dancing throughout
the weekend as well as storytelling and entertainers from throughout the
Americas and Canada. Recently nominated for a Native American Music Award,
WolfHeart will be performing at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Also,
there will be performances by renown flutist David Sanipass, Storytelling by
Willow and exhibition dancing throughout the weekend. There will be an
auction to raise funding for the National American Indian Defense and its
continued service to Indigenous peoples throughout the many nations including
the clothing, school and medical supplies drive for Indigenous peoples in
need. Prizes will be awarded to the trader(s) with the best craft or art
piece.
The admission fee for the public is:
$5.00 for adults (12 over)
$3.00 Seniors and children (6-12)
Free for Children (6 under)
