The author of "Nuke Foes Suddenly Turn Silent" should get his facts
straight. He obviously had not done his homework. Every single shallow
land burial radioactive waste site in this country (all six of them) has
leaked, nd are currently continually leaking, radioactive contamination into
groundwater, lakes, streams, and air. Does he truly believe this site would
be any different?

He askes this question: "Although the Clinton administration helped block
Ward Valley, it has been shipping atom bomb factory waste materials to a
site in California's San Joaquin Valley that is unlicensed for such
materials and is very near the California Aqueduct. Where's the governor?
Where are the Hollywood liberals and the anti-Ward Valley protesters?"

The State of California is now investigating the shipment of these materials
to the Buttonwillow site. They are investigating because folks from New
York contacted the Save Ward Valley people who in turn started making noise.
That is where the anti-Ward Valley protesters are!!! Right in the middle of
it!
