PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) -- A demonstration by American Indian activists
turned violent
Saturday as people ransacked a store and set fires. Two news photographers
were roughed
up.
The four-hour American Indian Movement rally Saturday started peacefully in
Pine Ridge
and ended with a two-mile walk to nearby Whiteclay, Neb.
