Authorities say the partially decomposed bodies of the two men were discovered by a woman running on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation near the Nebraska border at White Clay on June 8, 1999. Hardheart and Black Elk, Jr. were last seen alive at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 6th, walking North on the main road from White Clay.
