From: Eric Martin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

This week on Earthsongs music from Carlos Santana, Andrew Vasquez, Tudjaat,
Bill Miller, and a deeply autobiographical piece from John Trudell. Our
feature artist this week is Hawaiian Slack-key guitarist Raymond Kane.

Kane talks about the origins of Slack-key guitar playing which he says was
born of a friendly cultural exchange between the Hawaiian and Mexican
cowboys. Growing up on a remote but musically-rich coastline on Oahu, Kane
says in those days, slack-key tunings and picking techniques were
closely-guarded family secrets.
