The "RUN FOR LEONARD," sponsored by the International LPDC Office, will be the kick-off for events planned throughout the month of November. Native American ceremonial runners, along with both native and non-native supporters, will begin their two-day run on Saturday, October 30th at the historical Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. The morning schedule is as follows: 7:00 a.m. - Prayer Ceremonies and Speech 9:00 a.m. - Drumming with the "Sovereign Nations" Drum Group 10:00 a.m. - Run Begins Following the speech, prayer and drumming session at the Liberty Bell, the runners will begin their journey to the White House in Washington D.C. On Monday, November 1st, they will be met by all local supporters, and religious leaders of high standing, such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, together with a Native American religious leader of equal standing. Together they will welcome the runners, and officially open Leonard Peltier Freedom Month. Many more native runners are requested to join the "Run for Leonard" to make this the strongest showing of native support ever for Leonard.
