Hi,

the desktop entry spec
[http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/desktop-entry-spec-0.9.4.html#recognized-keys]
 says that a .desktop file of type Type=Link contains the linked URL in the
"URL" field, which is specified to be of type "string". So it can only contain
ASCII characters.

FWIW, Nautilus already creates .desktop files with UTF-8 in the URL
field if you drag an IDN link [http://äöüss.net/] from a web browser to
the nautilus desktop. And in fact in this situation UTF-8 is necessary;
since when the hostname is URL-escaped instead, gecko cannot load it.

The type should be changed to "localestring".

Regards,
        Christian
