No, it doesn't solve the problem, because - as you pointed out - not doing anything isn't really user-friendly either. It is possible ? Yes, that sounds feasible. Maybe we can have new PANEL_OBJECT_VFS_DRIVE and PANEL_OBJECT_VFS_DRIVE PanelObjectType entries.
