Hi, As you see, all the world (except OS X Finder) uses kibibytes - whenever you call them "kibibytes" or "kilobytes". It is for many tenths of years. Because some weird people started using kilobytes as power of 10 to get better marketing we have now this whole ugly mess.
As the computers use binary system and almost certainly will do it for many many years it is easier for everyone to use power of 2. >From my point of view we should use kibi/mibi and correctly label them.
