It would be great if it could be made to compile as a standalone module, as was done with some of the old db modules that we removed, such as nsdbext. I think ns_share is pretty separate, maybe just need something to hang the per-server stuff off which is currently in the NsServer struct. Also, there is some ns_var stuff in nsd/tclvar.c that probably belongs with ns_share.
