That's would have been my first guess, since (a) nsthreadtest is not in 
regular use,
and (b) there are some internal differences in Tcl concerning the 
initialization between
8.4 and 8.5.

i can look into the issue, but i am right now quite busy. For what purpose
do you need nsthreadtest? is out of curiosity, do you want to check, if
"everything works", or is there an application need?
