Is this a new installation or some upgrade?
New, first source from sourforge, later from a hg clone from github, and then from an old version that compiled before. Configure fails in the three with the error I mentioned. For the hg clone I had to run "autogen.sh", it tried to run configure, but failed because it did not find tcl, then I run "connfigure --with-tcl=XX".
See in detail, what the error means [2].
I see. I never understood all these autotools and for what they are. Seing them reminds me on inflation and hyperinflation. I would prefer to read some docs and edit Makefiles as some years ago.
Can it be that you have to update some packages [3]?
