Subject: Re: [Navision-Knowledge-Village] Question regarding
Hi
There are basically 2 issues...
- 1 - Table locking
Navision locks the tables during some routines, especially posting routines. If an error occurs and the user leaves that error standing, Navision still has the table locked. This usually is an issue during initial testing and GoLive where users leave the msg and go and see their key user. Once the msg is confirmed, the locking will go away and the others users will go ahead in the queue they posted.
- 2 - Deadlocking
There seems to be some deadlocking issues in 3.70A/B and 4.00 where Navision locks the tables in a deadlocking sequence, meaning 2 different processes lock 2 tables on reversed order and then Navision gets stuck. Neither MBS nor us knows yet where this is coming from, but they have some time dedicated during the next couple of days.

Dear Navision Gods,
We just implemented Navision 3.70B, and are experiencing frequent "lockups".
Is this due to several users trying to access the same table at once?
Thanks in advance,
