For what it is worth, I use navit on a cheap WinCE 5.0 satnav. It crashes occasionally, but usually when I have initiated a substantial computation such as a search over an large area: I suspect that it runs out of memory. But it generally runs fairly well, especially recent versions which are much improved. The log always contains a great many "GPS data coming too fast" messages; indeed they dominate the file. So I suspect that you can ignore such messages, and your problem lies elsewhere.
