I normally use Navit on my laptop in routing mode with a GPS adapter. I have an OSD text field which displays the remaining distance to destination using: navigation.item.destination_length[value]
Sometimes I don't have the GPS adapter connected, but I would still like to see the route suggested by Navit from some point "A" to "B" on the map - when planning a trip for example. If I right-click on point "A" and choose "Set as position" and then right-click on point "B" and choose "Set as destination", Navit will highlight in blue the suggested route. However, the distance between the position and destination does not display. 1. Is Navit not switching to routing mode until I actually connect the GPS - even though I've set the position manually? 2. Is there some other way to make it display the distance between two points on the map? 3. If this is not currently possible, would it be worth logging a feature request to be added to Navit at some point in the future?
