Madness Escalates in These Last Days 2 Tim 4:1-5

I charge thee
therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ,
who shall judge the quick and the
dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
{2} Preach the word;
be instant in season, out of
season;
reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
longsuffering and doctrine.
{3} For the time will
come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall
they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears;
{4} And they shall turn
away their ears from the truth,
and shall be turned unto
fables.
{5} But watch thou in all
things,
endure
afflictions,
do the work of an
evangelist,
make full proof of thy
ministry.
Dear Friends in Christ,
Could the above Bible verse be more true today than
ever? I am thinking about the Terri Schiavo case, in which the forces of good
are openly pitted against the forces of evil. Imagine, for a court to have
accepted the "hear-say" of an adulterous husband who wants to do away with his
first wife at any cost, even demanding that she be starved to death with
govenment sanction.
And worse yet is the precedent that this sets..not
necessarily in the courts, but in the thinking and mentality of our society. We
are already living in a country in which it is ok to kill your baby as long as
you can't see it growing in the womb of the mother. This is already sick. This
puts the stamp of approval on adultery and premarital sex, because you can just
have all the sex you want with whomever and wherever you want, and if you have a
baby... just kill it, flush it, throw it in the dumpster or let the abortionist
sell off its body parts to a medical lab for experimentation or whatever
Frankensteinian thing one can think of.
The miracle in all of this is that we are still
experincing the loving grace of God in light of all this and the other sins in
our society. The USA was once considered a Christian society, where you could
rely on the Justice system for real Godly Justice and equity. What do we have
now? An unreliable mess out there in which the courts are more likely to take
away your human rights than to seek the protection of the innocent life. GOD
HAVE MERCY ON US !!!
What is the reason for all this madness? Are we
already suffering the incremental judgement of God on ourselves for our apathy
and lack of obedience to the Great Commission? If there were more Christians
around, there would be a higher probability that our society would be governed
by them instead of some of the godless reprobates we have now. Witnessing is not
an option to a Christian: it is a necessity because it is an outright command
from the Savior. Separating ourselves from sinful activities is also not an
option for a Christian. It is equally a necessity. Why do we have to wait until
it is obvious that we need a revival to drag out this famous
verse:

If my people, which are called by
my name,
shall humble
themselves,
and pray,
and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their
sin,
and will heal their
land.
Our land is sick because we are sick. We are living in
the last days, and we are subject to the admonitions to the church of Laodicea
given in the Revelation:
Rev 3:14-22

of the Laodiceans write;
These things saith the Amen, the
faithful and true witness,
the beginning of the creation of
God;
{15} I know thy works, that
thou art neither cold nor hot:
I would thou wert cold or hot.

I will spue thee out of my
mouth.
{17} Because thou sayest,
I am rich, and increased with
goods, and have need of nothing;
and knowest not that thou art
wretched, and miserable,
and poor, and blind, and naked:
{18} I counsel thee to buy
of me gold tried in the fire,
that thou mayest be rich;
and white raiment, that thou
mayest be clothed,
and that the shame of thy
nakedness do not appear;
and anoint thine eyes with
eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
{19} As many as I
love, I rebuke and chasten:
be zealous therefore, and
repent.
{20} Behold, I stand at the
door, and knock:
if any man hear my voice, and open
the door,
I will come in to him, and will
sup with him, and he with me.
{21} To him that overcometh
will I grant to sit with me in my throne,
even as I also overcame, and am
set down with my Father in his throne.
{22} He that hath an ear,
let him hear
what the Spirit saith unto the
churches.
In these days in
which we celebrate the death, burial and
ressurection of Christ from the dead, let us re-examine our lives and attitudes,
and our commitment to the Word and purposes and person of
Christ.
