Come Out from Among
Them
"God is in the
hypocrite's mouth, but the world is in his heart."
Maturity in
grace makes us willing to part with worldly goods. The green apple needs a sharp
twist to separate it from the bough, but the ripe fruit parts readily from the
wood. Maturity in grace makes it easier to part with life itself. The unripe
pear is scarcely beaten down with much labor, while its mellow companion drops
readily into the hand with the slightest shake. Rest assured that love for the
things of this life and cleaving to this present state are sure indications of
immaturity in the divine life. --C.H.Spurgeon
2 Cor 6:14-18
(KJV)
Be ye not unequally yoked together
with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with
darkness?
{15} And what
concord{Grk-=harmony} hath Christ with Belial{ie=Satan}?
or what part hath he that
believeth with an infidel?
{16} And what agreement
hath the temple of God with idols?
for ye are the temple of the
living God;
as God hath said, I will dwell in
them, and walk in them;
and I will be their God, and they
shall be my people.
{17} Wherefore come out
from among them,
and be ye separate, saith
the Lord,
and touch not the unclean
thing;
and I will receive you,
{18} And will be a Father
unto you,
and ye shall be my sons and
daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
{2 Cor 7:1}Having therefore these
promises, dearly beloved,
let us cleanse ourselves
from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the
fear of God.
Num 16:25-26 (KJV)
And Moses rose up and went
unto Dathan and Abiram;
and the elders of Israel followed
him.
{26} And he spake unto the
congregation, saying,
Depart, I pray you, from the tents
of these wicked men,
and touch nothing of
theirs,
lest ye be consumed in all
their sins.
Ezra 6:21-22
(KJV)
And the children of Israel,
which were come again out of captivity,
and all such as had separated
themselves unto them
from the filthiness of the heathen
of the land,
to seek the LORD God of Israel,
did eat,
{22} And kept the feast of
unleavened bread seven days with joy:
for the LORD had made them joyful,
and turned the heart of the king
of Assyria unto them,
to strengthen their hands in
the work of the house of God,
the God of
Israel.
Psa 1:1-3
(KJV)
Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of
sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful.
{2} But his delight is
in the law of the LORD;
and in his law doth he meditate
day and night.
{3} And he shall be like a
tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in
his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall
prosper.
Isa 52:9-11
(KJV)
Break forth into joy, sing
together, ye waste places of Jerusalem:
for the LORD hath comforted his
people,
he hath redeemed
Jerusalem.
{10} The LORD hath
made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations;
and all the ends of the earth
shall see the salvation of our God.
{11} Depart ye, depart
ye,
go ye out from thence,
touch no unclean thing;
go ye out of the midst of her;
be ye clean, that bear the vessels
of the LORD.
Acts 2:38-40
(KJV)
Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one
of you
in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of
the Holy Ghost.
{39} For the promise is
unto you, and to your children,
and to all that are afar off,
even as many as the Lord
our God shall call.
{40} And with many other
words did he testify and exhort, saying,
Save yourselves from this
untoward{Grk=perverse} generation.
Rev 18:1-5
(KJV)
And after these things I saw
another angel come down from heaven,
having great power;
and the earth was lightened with
his glory.
{2} And he cried
mightily with a strong voice, saying,
Babylon the great is fallen,
is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils,
and the hold of every foul spirit,
and a cage of every unclean and
hateful bird.
{3} For all nations
have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication,
and the kings of the earth have
committed fornication with her,
and the merchants of the
earth are waxed rich
through the abundance of her
delicacies.
{4} And I heard another
voice from heaven, saying,
Come out of her, my
people,
that ye be not partakers of
her sins,
and that ye receive not of her
plagues.
{5} For her sins have
reached unto heaven,
and God hath remembered her
iniquities.
Rom 12:1-2
(KJV)
I beseech you therefore,
brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies
a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto
God,
which is your
reasonable service.
{2} And be not conformed to
this world:
but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable,
and perfect, will of
God.
