That's fair enough. I guess in my pipe-dream scheme this would go:
S->C: WANT OPTION EXPORT
C->S: WANT OPTION EXPORTLIST
S->C: OPTION EXPORTLIST [...list...]
C->S: OPTION EXPORT [...name...]
S->C: [more options]
