Ah, yes, I postponed that change until squeeze had been released.
Squeeze does indeed not yet contain this code. Wheezy does, since a week
or two; but I've had the code in unstable since a few days before the
release of squeeze, actually :-)

Yes. That's also why I had IANA assign me a port, since it makes sense
to have that now.

Right now, on my laptop there is versione 2.9.16 (so before the new protocol).
On my job laptop I remember I compiled the latest nbd version. I have
to check but it was using the port i wrote in the config file (alway
debian squeeze but nbd-server 2.9.23).
