graffiti and the efforts underway to control this in our neighborhood.

I very much hope that you will be able to attend MDBA's follow-up
meeting to the January one which had standing room only.
Our speakers' panel will include the director of the East End
Community Improvement District (speaking about how they've managed to
gain control of their graffiti problem), Council Member Sue Lovell
(speaking about the new graffiti ordinance as proposed) and Asst.
Chief Brian Lumpkin, who is running the Graffiti Abatement effort for
Neighborhood Protection.
As we've all observed, this problem is not going away, and we must
continue to face up to it, trying to facilitate removal by owners in
view of the limited funds for the City's efforts. MDBA is seeking to
establish active coordination between resident and business property
owners toward that end.
The cost of the luncheon is $20 (tax and tip included), and we will,
as before, attempt to start the meeting as promptly as possible at
11:30 a.m. It is being held at LaStrada on Westheimer.
