As Capt. Arnie Anderson mentioned at the September meeting, we are
combining with the Heights PIP Group.
Our next meeting will be a combination of our two PIP groups. Therefore,
the next PIP meeting is scheduled for:
Date: Wednesday October 25 (the 4th Wednesday)
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Houston Police Officers Union Building, 1602 State Street
We do not have a planned program and speaker because the purpose will be to
get to know one another and discuss our neighborhood similarities and
differences, as they relate to crime prevention. For those not familiar with the
HPOU location, here's how to get there: take Memorial East from Shepherd or
Waugh towards down town. Take the second exit, Houston Ave. and make a U- Turn
at the Houston Ave. stop light. Now you are going west. At the first street on
the right, Trinity, turn right and go one block. This is State Street. The
Houston Police Officers Buildings are on the left. We will be meeting in the
building on the left, the "Breckenridge Porter Building".
Be sure and attend this meeting- let's see how this joint Montrose &
Heights P.I.P. meeting unfolds.
And if that's not enough, all PIP members in good-standing are heartily
encouraged to attend the November City-Wide PIP meeting on Tuesday, November 14
at 7:00 pm at the Chevron Bldg., 1500 Louisiana at Bell St.
This will be the City-Wide Holiday Treat meeting. It is being hosted by
Chevron and sponsored by HPD's Special Operations. Parking for the meeting,
which is located across the street from the Chevron Bldg. on Bell St., is free
and will be marked with a "City-Wide Parking" sign. There will be a "State of
the HPD" address to PIP Members by Houston Police Chief Harold Hurtt followed by
food and snacks, and fellowship.
Sincerely,
Robert Graham
Chairman
Central One District PIP
