Thank you for your contributions. Well,I did not expect that this
discussion could go so far :)

Wim, there is no underlying widget, the "button" is drawn because the whole
component is a Canvas.

I like the idea of extending the ControlDecoration component of JFace.

I'm gonna go back on this after Christmas Eve.
