*MEGAN WATSON AND MEGHAN WAREHAM NAMED WOMEN’S SAILORS OF THE WEEK*
*New London**, CT** – 4/19/09* – Harvard’s Megan Watson ’09 and Meghan Wareham ’11 captured A division honors this weekend at the Wick/Shrew regatta hosted by Coast Guard. Watson/Wareham won the first race of the event and went on to average better than fifth over the course of the 16-race event. The Crimson finished fourth overall at the promotional event which featured twelve of the top fifteen nationally ranked women’s teams. *CHARLIE MODICA AND CREWS SARA SHEAR & KEVIN LAU-HANSEN ARE COED SAILORS OF THE WEEK* *Dorchester**, MA – 4/19/09* – Charlie Modica ’09 and Sara Shear ‘09/Kevin Lau-Hansen ’11 dominated A division at this weekend’s Coed New England Conference Championships at Boston College. With qualification for National Semi-Finals on the line, the regatta saw the closest competition of the year with less than thirty points separating first and eighth place. Modica/Shear/Lau-Hansen remained unfazed by the pressure of qualifying and won A division by over twenty points. Their performance led the Connecticut College to a third place finish, qualified the Camels for National Semi-Finals and has earned them Coed Sailors of the Week. AROUND THE CONFERENCE Boston College defended their Coed New England Conference Championship in their home waters of Dorchester Bay by edging out Roger Williams in the last race. Yale rallied on day two of the Wick/Shrew women’s regatta to win the regatta. Roger Williams ran away with this spring’s Oberg Trophy, winning by nearly forty points. Championship season continues next weekend with the Women’s Conference Championships at UVM.
